New Venue for Premier Girls’ Tournament Kicks Off Second Decade of ANNIKA Foundation’s Mission to Promote Women’s Golf, Health and Wellness(ORLANDO, Fla.) – The ANNIKA Foundation – golf Hall-of-Famer Annika Sorenstam’s charitable organization – is bringing its flagship U.S. event, the ANNIKA Invitational USA presented by Rolex, to the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla., Jan. 12-15.Produced in association with the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA), this will mark the 10th-consecutive edition of the 54 hole, stroke-play event. This year’s 72 player, all-girls field (ages 12-19) represents 15 different countries and 16 different states. She has played in three ANNIKA Invitationals including the inaugural ANNIKA Invitational Latin America where she took home the title. ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Angelina Ye of Bradenton, Florida, finished a come-from-behind victory on Monday with a final-round 1-under-par 71. Her tournament total of 2-under-par 214 was two shots clear of runner-up Lucy Li of Redwood Shores, California. “It means a lot to me to win my first AJGA Invitational, especially in front of Annika, who is one of the best golfers ever,” said Ye. “It was one of my goals in 2018 to win an Invitational, so it means a lot.”With the win at the 10th ANNIKA Invitational USA presented by Rolex, Ye earns an exemption into the Symetra Tour’s Florida’s Natural Classic in March. Annika says this is the best golf tip she ever received. It will help you feel how the golf club should move using the right parts of your body to make it accelerate. You can do it on the range or the golf course.First, take the golf club and grip it normally. When you set up to the ball, put your feet together so they’re almost touching. From there, just swing the club back and forth, and what you’ll see is you’re working your upper body, rotating it back and forth, and finishing with your belt buckle to the target. Your club will brush the grass and you’ll truly feel which body parts are working to make the club move.After doing a few swings like that, try it with a golf ball. Two-time Rolex All American Sadie Englemann is March’s Featured Player. Englemann, from Austin, Texas, has played in the ANNIKA Invitational USA presented by Rolex for three consecutive years. She finished T23 at the most-recent edition this past January. However, her finish at the Buick ShanShan Feng Girls Invitational really turned some heads. Sadie shot a 71-71-69 to win the event in Valencia, Calif. in February. Similar to the ANNIKA Invitational USA, the tournament featured some of golf’s best junior girls. The win helped Sadie move up to 10th in the Rolex AJGA Rankings.We caught up with Sadie after her recent win to get some insight on her golf career as well as her life. Inagaki Is ANNIKA Invitational Mission Hills Champion

Nanako Inagaki became the first ever Japanese winner of an ANNIKA Invitational tournament with a wire-to-wire victory in the eighth edition of the ANNIKA Invitational at Mission Hills in southern China.17-year-old Inagaki carded a 3-under-par 69 in the final round to lead her to a one-shot victory over 14-year-old Ho Yu An but it did not come easy. After making the turn, Inagaki had her eye on the prize with a four-shot lead. However, 2016 ANNIKA Invitational Mission Hills Champ An was not giving up just yet and carded an impressive 30 on the back nine including four birdies in a row. She finished her final round at 8-under-par, after sinking a 12-foot birdie putt on No. 18, forcing Inagaki to make birdie to win. The Japanese native kept her composure and made an 8-footer for birdie to claim the 2018 title with a tournament total score of 9-under-par, 207.

USGA Announces Team USA for 2018 Curtis Cup Match

The United States Golf Association has announced the eight players selected to play for Team USA in the 2018 Curtis Cup, to be played June 8-10 at Quaker Ridge Golf Club in Scarsdale, N.Y.UCLA’s Lilia Vu, ranked No. 1 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings, tops the list. Vu has had quite the year so far, winning four out of seven college events she's played, and finishing top-six in the other three. She has been No.1 on Golfweek’s ANNIKA Award presented by 3M Watch List for the past three editions and is heading into the NCAA Regionals with obvious momentum. This weekend, the best junior golfers from around the world will compete in the ANA Junior Inspiration with the winner earning an exemption into the LPGA’s first major championship of the season, the ANA Inspiration. Of the 48 players in the field, 36 are ANNIKA alumnae.The tournament field is determined by the ANA Priority Mileage Point Standings, which are based on the Rolex AJGA Rankings. In addition, top qualifiers from ANA’s 11 North American Gateway Cities will compete.The 54-hole tournament will take place at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif., March 24-25, 2018.The 36 ANNIKA alumnae include Amanda Linner, the reigning ANNIKA Invitational Europe champion.
